It is not unusual that November has a lot of sunny days and warm weather.

That fact has been very helpful and once again, we are pushing hard to finish the field-work before air temperature starts to go rapidly down.

Works on map-making are going well. Here you can see a sample of the new map and try to imagine how the terrain will look like.

Just a little bit more work and the map will truly become a piece of art…

Beograd Open will be held once again on beautiful and demanding terrain around Country Club BABE, placed 40 km from Serbian capital Belgrade. Program includes middle (WRE) and long distances on new maps with chasing start for junior and elite classes.

Everything is ready for competition.

We received 403 entries from Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Slovenia, Italy and Serbia. Here you can see final list of participants, and also you can see the final starting list organized by categories and by clubs. We’ll not accept any new entries. In accordance with activity in the hotel and surround, and knowing that there is only hotel and there aren’t another option for meal or so, it will be organize a barbecue external restaurant on Saturday after the race.

More, notice to all hotel guests – breakfast on Sunday will be served in larger banquet hall (not in regular restaurant) from 8:00 am. Notice to all hotel guests who sleep there, they can use the fitness center free of charge, except massage.

And the least, the winners in M and W 21E for Beograd Open winning award, given by the organization team “Kup Tose Proeski” and “Krusevo OPEN” from Macedonia. The winners get a entry fee voucher for all races in these competitions as well as accommodation in one of the villas.

This is a good opportunity to take visit Macedonia in September and compete in beautiful forest, especially at sprint race trough old town Krusevo.

Now, a condition on the terrain is much better – air temperature constantly increase and snow finally disappear .

We should be publishing bulletin no.3 nowadays, but unfortunately, we have to postponed the competition due to the fact there is a lot of snow on the terrain. Yesterday we visited the terrain and measured 10 cm snow at the finish area on open land and 15-18 cm in the forest. Basically, it should disappear until this Saturday, but air temperature for the next few day’s will be just around 0 or 1-2 above during the midday. In the night’s air temperature will decrease to -10C and everything will be frozen and the thing be worst we can expect more falls (snow or rain) in the mid of the week. Almost two month’s left until first start on Beograd Open 2011.
We managed to complete the map in December, due to the very likable and nice weather.
What’s also new?
First of all, we are publish Bulletin No.2. We had to make some changes compared to first bulletin. You can read it on page Invitation.
On-line entries now are available here.
Most important is that the map for MW Elite on Saturday’s WRE race will be on scale 1:10000 according the IOF rules. Next one – we modulated some classes.
Please, look at very carefully for new classes.
Regarding accommodation – we added new links for hostels in Belgrade.
