It’s not usual to publish course lengths for a club competition three or four months in advance but the courses for „Beograd Open 2018“ have been ready for some time due to the fact that the map already exist. It helps competitors to be informed about the course lengths awaiting them in the race, for better preparation and to make a choice at least. We will make a serious effort to set a trend in Serbian orienteering to be more thorough in planning courses, with greater emphasis on recreational categories and pre-selections (children under 10 years).

Of course, the competition categories aren’t neglected. The courses will be in line with the slogan of the competition: Forest orienteering as it should be – challenging and fun.

Није уобичајено да се дужине стаза на неком такмичењу знају 3-4 месеци раније од одржавања трке, али стазе за Београд Опен 2018 смо припремали већ неко време, захваљујући чињеници да карта одавно постоји. Са друге стране, важно је и за оне такмичаре који планирају да учествују на трци, да буду информисани знатно раније о дужинама које их чекају на трци и што боље припреме. Београд Опен 2018 ће бити нека врста експеримента у настојању да се покрене озбиљнији тренд у српском оријентирингу око темељнијег и јаснијег планирања стаза, затим већи акценат на рекреативне категорије и предселекције (децу до 10 година).

Наравно, такмичарске категорије нису запостављене. Стазе ће бити у складу са слоганом такмичења: Шумски оријентиринг какав и треба бити – изазован и забаван.

The middle of November is the perfect time to start mapping. There was some forest cutting and new paths finding – and we made some changes. Do not worry – numerous pits, knolls, hills and depressions are still there. Courses settings are almost finished, and those details will be published for Christmas and New Year holidays.
